I studied sculpture in the era of movement. The figurative art was old fashioned and clay was oldfashioned too. It was considered mud.   But to me it was the connection to the Earth herself,. So I persisted and created clay sculptures and clay bowls and in the meantime I was teaching how to do just that.

My artwork in general is process oriented. The clay sculptures I create are parts of bigger compositions. The dimension of time is important while creating them. I pay close attention to the repeating movement of my hands and my whole body. I invented a  ritual of creating movement which brought me even closer to the clay so clay became not only my material of expression but a partner in movement. Thus I became a humble dancer on the surface of the earth responding to its breathing

The concept of PLAY IN CLAY struck me while in the middle of teaching the abandance of clay forming techniques to the young and old.

By then I was sure that humanity needs a chance to find itself and the only way  I could help was through clay.

During the workshop in Hum i would like to humbly transmit my experience of atentive, creative tuching of clay with other members of our journey.  We will explore the tuch and see how can the movement influence the outcome oh the creating in clay.

Let-s dance!
