FLYING LOW & CHI GONG

Vangelis will focus the workshop on Flying Low and Release techniques incorporating Chi Gong, the 5 elements and meridians. Flying Low is a physical and technical dance style that uses the body weight and momentum to have a smooth connection with the floor.Through contraction and expansion, gathering and sending we will feel the energies within our bodies, through the room and everybody else. Chi Gong will facilitate a fine energy flow through the organs of the body and the meridians. Vangelis will specifically incorporate the 5 elements (water, fire, wood, metal and earth) and the meridians within flying low practice and will not be like two separate classes one of Chi Gong and one of Flying Low. Vangelis has been exploring for many years body-mind-spirit connection through improvisation and experiential anatomy, Chi Gong, Tai Chi, Budoh and Kundalini Yoga. Breathing exercises will play a crucial role in this workshop so as to embody movement, enhance consciousness and in turn broaden perspective and possibilities whilst dancing.
